The WASM Wallabies
The WASM Wallabies (TWW) are a non-profit, student run organization, co-ordinated by in-house elected committee members. As a collective, TWW actively involve themselves with such events/programs as:
TWW were founded, and based, in Bentley at the Curtin University Campus, Western Australia. We are open to all current students enrolled in mineral resource oriented courses, interested in extra-curricular, team based activities that expose them to the industry they are studying towards.

- Student meets industry (SMI) nights
- International collegiate mining competitions
- Engineering outreach programs
- Curtin Engineering orientation weeks

WASM is located in Kalgoorlie, the mining capital of Western Australia. This ‘School of Mines’ is widely renowned as the leading institution for tertiary mining education in Australia. Courses available at WASM include engineering (mining, metallurgy, environmental mining), mine surveying, geology (mining and exploration) and mineral economics. Over the 105 year history of the School, it is clear that WASM graduates are highly sought after, for their quality, innovation and integrity.
W - Working Together:
- Working as a team to achieve good results, supporting each other in all endeavors and promoting group cohesion.
- Taking part is not only showing up for the big training sessions and the competition, it means being active in the team and participating in all facets of the Wallabies including SMI events.
- Being a part of the Wallabies isn’t just a way to kill time. As a part of this team you will make improvements, be that as a competitor, as a student, as a team member or as a person. Participating in this team will get you job ready, study ready and life ready with improvement in all facets of life.
- Above all enjoy all the aspects of being a Wallaby, socially, outside of just training as well as in training and competitions. Provide a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for others too.
